Persuasion has been pretty clear for me to identify. It is usually just the one that tries to convince the reader or listener of what is right, wrong, just, unjust, true, or untrue. It is really just up to you to see the cues and know that they are trying to convince you of something, at least that is what i have understood it to be thus far.
Notice that those who make careful arguments are also trying to persuade, just as much as those who use grand rhetoric or other emotive tactics. The difference is the METHOD by which each hopes to do this. The careful reasoner trusts that an intelligent argument well framed will move reasonable people, without need for manipulation.
I am going to say that you see this everywhere, every day, all the time. When words are spoken, they persuade. When communication is made, well you see where it's going. I think this is too broad of a question for a more accurate response.
